Counselling services in the Southside of Glasgow

Juanita Hunter

Juanita is a fully qualified person-centred counsellor and as such looks to create a therapeutic environment aimed at the needs of her clients. She tries to encourage a comfortable safe space in which clients can talk freely about the areas of their lives that cause them the most difficulty. She listens, hears and values your perspective so that you can work through opening up your world to new perspectives. She will support you in moving forward.

Finding the words to express yourself can be difficult at times, so Juanita will work with you, using various methods to aid your process. In the past she has used art work, visual aids and small activities during sessions to help achieve this, and they are all client-led and, most importantly, all done at your pace! When the weather allows Juanita likes to offer outdoor walking sessions. Clients have found that walking sessions have helped them articulate better how they are feeling, as being outside helped calm them and they found it to be less confining than the four walls of a room. Clients have also expressed that walking side by side felt less intimidating than sitting face-to-face and made them feel more at ease to express themselves.

Juanita has experience of working with a wide range of issues, including

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • stress
  • addiction
  • self-harm
  • trauma
  • suicidal ideation
  • bereavement and loss
  • anger
  • eating disorders
