Sometimes life presents us with difficult situations that are challenging to face on our own. At these times you may want to talk with someone who is non-judgmental and who will provide you with a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings.
Natalina is a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with experience of working with young adolescents and adults, with a range of different issues. Within her practice, she works predominantly in CBT. However, she will also use elements from different therapeutic approaches such as Gestalt therapy, Solution-focused therapy and Compassion-focused therapy. The therapeutic relationship will be built upon the core conditions of Genuineness, Acceptance and Empathy.
CBT is a talking therapy based on the idea that the way we think about situations can affect the way we feel and behave. There is a great deal of research evidence to show that CBT works effectively in treating depression and anxiety. Within sessions, we will work collaboratively to identify negative thinking patterns and behaviours which may be causing you difficulties. Natalina will work with you to establish goals and help you work towards those goals. We will look at a variety of CBT techniques that will not only help you in the present, but will also help you even when treatment ends.
Compassion-focused therapy (CFT)
Compassion-focused therapy was founded by Paul Gilbert and is considered an integrative therapy as it uses tools from other psychotherapies. Compassion-focused therapy can help you consciously develop your ability to be more compassionate towards yourself and others. It is helpful for those who have the following: deep feelings of shame or guilt, difficulty (or an inability) to be kind towards themselves, an unrelenting inner critic, a history of physical or emotional abuse. CFT can help individuals experiencing: depression, anxiety, eating disorders, anger, addictions and self- harm
Natalina will work collaboratively with you to help you to establish goals and to work towards those goals. She provides a safe space where you can talk openly about your concerns. She offers an opportunity for you to reach a deeper understanding of your self.
